darkroom is thrilled to be welcoming Naroa Perez to run our first Liquid Emulsion workshop. Originally scheduled to take place in Spring 2020, this had to be cancelled as the country moved into its first lockdown. Now with the future looking brighter, this is the first of a planned roll-out of our expanded portfolio of alternative process workshops.
Naroa came in to spend a day at darkroom to work out how best to use our space and ensure the smooth running of her workshop later this month. We coated a variety of materials that she will use for demonstration purposes, including handmade papers, fabric and even small plaster roundels. Brushing and sponging on the liquid emulsion and then using hairdryers to speed up the drying process, was a fun, if rather challenging experience, under the red safelights.
All went according to plan and the results were stunning. The group booked for the first sold-out session are definitely in for a treat!
